|Brookside is situated on the outskirts of Lowville, the County seat of agriculturally rich Lewis County, just 25 miles south west of Fort Drum. This small, close-knit community at the base of the Adirondack Mountain region has a population of around 4,000, and all of the friendliness and advantages one would expect from a small town. Lowville’s downtown business district is less than a mile from Brookside and the surrounding views, in almost every direction, are open fields and dairy farms. The local county hospital provides extensive medical services, many churches are just a short drive in town and transportation is available by Brookside for those residents who do not drive.

Watertown, the county seat, is centrally located on the Black River, 11 miles east of Lake Ontario and 22 miles south of the St. Lawrence River and the beautiful Thousand Island region. Jefferson County is also the home of Fort Drum and the 10th Mountain Division. Additionally, Ives Hill is close to shopping and medical facilities and situated next to a public golf course.
